Book online and take $25 off. Booking it yourself saves us the back-and-forth of a phone call, so we pass that back to you. The credit is applied to your bill on the day — it will be on the appointment before we arrive.
Nothing is due when you book. You pay when the work is done and it works.
This is what Keyless looks like when we leave
The MK-1 on the front door, the handleset beside it keyed to match, and every other exterior door rekeyed to the same key. No app required to get in — fingerprint, a code, or the key in your pocket, whichever you feel like using.
It is the $1,275 package, and it is the one most people take. Not because it is the middle option, but because carrying a key to your own front door stops being something you think about.

The breakdown, if you want it
Some people want the solution and do not want to think about it. Some people want to know exactly what they are paying for. Both are reasonable, so here is the arithmetic each package is built from.
| Component | Rate |
|---|---|
| Mobile service charge we come to you, daytime | $250 |
| Rekey one cylinder you have a working key | $55 |
| Rekey one cylinder no working key — we make one to the lock | $100 |
| MK-1 Smart Deadbolt supplied, installed, configured | $500 |
| Mul-T-Lock high-security deadbolt supplied and installed | $575 |
| Garage door keypad supplied, installed, paired, tested | $750 |
| Standard lock supplied and installed | $150 |
| Door and frame prep for a new bore — per lock | $100 |
| Keys beyond the 5 included | $5 each |
| Keying everything alike | Included |
A typical three-door house is $250 plus six cylinders at $55 = $580 itemised. The package is $695 and includes the keys, the alignment check, and the guarantee. We are not pretending the package is a discount — it is a fixed number so you know it before we arrive.
What the price includes:
- The mobile service charge — we come to you, there is no separate trip fee on top
- Up to 6 cylinders rekeyed and keyed alike (a typical 3-door house)
- 5 keys cut and tested on site before we leave
- Every deadbolt checked for alignment and full throw into the frame
- All hardware named in the package, supplied and installed
- Setup, pairing and a walkthrough on any smart hardware included in the package
What costs extra, and how much:
- Each cylinder beyond the sixth, when you have a working key — $55
- Each cylinder beyond the sixth with no working key — $100
- Any door needing a new bore (door and frame prep) — $100 per lock
- Keys beyond the 5 included — $5 each
- An additional smart deadbolt — $500 installed
- An additional Mul-T-Lock high-security deadbolt — $575 installed
- A garage door keypad added to Tier 1 or Tier 2 — $750 installed
- After 5 PM appointments — see the after-hours rate below
Prices shown are in effect from August 2026 and remain in effect until updated on this page. Final price is confirmed with you before any work begins. A double-sided deadbolt (a keyhole on both sides instead of a thumb turn) is one lock but two cylinders, so it counts as two. The booking form asks about these on purpose.
The Major Key guarantee
- 90 days on our labour, on every job. Rekeys, lockouts, door adjustments, installations — residential or commercial, the same number either way. If something we did comes loose, sticks, or stops working the way we left it, we come back and put it right at no charge.
- MK-line smart locks — 2 years on the lock itself. If an MK-1, MK-2 or MK-3 we supplied gives you trouble inside two years, we come out, replace the unit and fit the new one free — the visit and the fitting included. Not a manufacturer's call centre, not a returns form. Us. This is the one place we guarantee the hardware, because it is the one lock we chose.
- Other locks we supply — Mul-T-Lock, Kwikset, Schlage, Master Lock — carry their manufacturer's warranty on the hardware, and we file that claim for you rather than handing you a phone number. Our labour on them is the 90-day baseline above.
- What none of it covers: damage, forced entry, or a lock that was sound when we left and has been attacked since.
What happens on the day
- We walk the house first. Every exterior door — front, back, side, basement, garage entry — so we both agree the real cylinder count before anything comes apart. If it is fewer than you booked, the price comes down.
- We check what can be rekeyed. Good hardware gets kept and rekeyed. Worn or mismatched hardware gets replaced, and we tell you which and why rather than defaulting to selling you locks.
- Everything is keyed alike. One key, every exterior door, including any new locks fitted on the same visit. No matching charge.
- Keys are cut and tested at your door. Five of them. In the locks. Before we leave.
- Every deadbolt gets checked. Alignment, strike plate, and full throw into the frame. A deadbolt that only goes halfway in is a deadbolt that is not doing its job.
- Smart hardware is set up with you. App installed, account made, codes programmed, auto-lock timer set the way you want it, and walked through before we go.
- Nothing is due until it works. Itemised receipt, before-and-after photos, card, tap or check.

Just closed? Book within 30 days
Book any package within 30 days of your closing date and the visit includes a home security walkthrough at no charge — every exterior door and entry point checked and rated, with the weak points named out loud. Not a formal report you will never read. A locksmith who walked your house and told you what is actually weak about it.
It also includes five extra keys, ten in total, because a new house usually means more people needing one than you first think.
Realtors and closing gifts
If you are an agent, this is the closing gift clients remember, because it is the first thing they were going to have to organise themselves. We can invoice you directly, schedule around the closing date, and hand your client a walkthrough with your name attached to it.
What new homeowners say
Those are real, and they are quoted exactly as written — but they are still five we chose. Read them where they live — unedited, in whatever order Google puts them, including any we would rather you skipped.
400+ reviews is not a handful of friends. It is nine years of doors.

New homeowner questions
How do I know which package I need?
If you want the house secured and nothing else, take Rekey & Secure at $695. If you also want to stop carrying a key on your main door, take Keyless at $1,275 — that is what most people book. Complete Smart Entry at $2,395 is for people who want the whole property on one system, including the garage.
What is a cylinder, and why do you count those instead of doors?
A cylinder is one keyhole. Most exterior doors have two — a knob and a deadbolt — so a three-door house is usually six cylinders. Counting doors is how locksmiths end up quoting one number on the phone and charging another at the house. We count the thing the work is actually done on.
What is a double-sided deadbolt and why does it matter?
It is a deadbolt with a keyhole on both sides instead of a thumb turn inside. They are common on doors with glass panels. It is one lock but two cylinders, so it counts as two — $110 rather than $55. The booking form asks about these before you commit, so the price you see is the price you pay.
What if my house has more than six cylinders?
Then it is $55 for each one beyond six with a working key, or $100 without. The booking form asks how many doors you have and works it out before you book, so there is no surprise. If it turns out to be fewer than quoted, you pay less.
I do not have keys for some of the locks. Is that a problem?
No. We make a key to the existing lock instead of replacing it. That is $100 per cylinder rather than $55, and it is usually still the better answer, because good hardware is worth keeping.
My locks are all different brands. Can they still share one key?
Usually yes. Try your key in every keyhole in the house. If it slides in everywhere but only turns in some, the locks share a keyway and we can make them all match. If it will not go in at all, some hardware has to be replaced — we pick which, and we key everything alike anyway at no extra charge.
How long does the visit take?
About 90 minutes for Rekey & Secure, about two hours for Keyless, and three to four hours for Complete Smart Entry. We walk the house first and count every exterior door with you before anything comes apart.
Can I add a smart lock to the base package instead of jumping a tier?
Yes. A smart deadbolt added to a package is $500 installed, because we are already at your door. As a standalone visit on its own it is $750, because that includes the trip. Bundling is cheaper for exactly that reason.
Do you take a deposit?
No. Nothing is due when you book — you pay when the work is done and it works. Booking online does take $25 off the price, because it saves us the phone call. That credit is written onto the appointment when you book, so the locksmith already has it before he arrives; you do not have to remind anyone.
Is there a warranty?
Two layers. Everything we do carries 90 days on our labour — rekeys, lockouts, door adjustments, installations, residential or commercial, the same number either way. On top of that, an MK-line smart lock carries two years on the lock itself: if it gives you trouble inside two years we come out, replace the unit and fit the new one free, visit included. Other locks we supply carry their manufacturer's warranty on the hardware, and we file that claim for you rather than handing you a phone number.
